Interferometric Range Transceiver for Measuring Temporal Gravity Variations
نویسنده
چکیده
We report on interferometric range transceiver technology demonstration. The goal of this work is to reduce risk for a follow-on gravity mission to the Gravity Recovery and Climate Experiment (GRACE) by demonstrating performance of a heterodyne interferometric laser ranging instrument appropriate for a follow-on gravity mission to GRACE at the NASA Technology Readiness Level (TRL) 6. In order to show readiness at TRL 6 we are constructing a brassboard interferometer from flight qualifiable material that we will run through vibration and thermal tests. We have demonstrated displacement noise performance of better than 1 nm/√Hz at frequencies greater than 30 mHz in a laboratory breadboard.

Refractive Index Compensation in Over-Determined Interferometric Systems
We present an interferometric technique based on a differential interferometry setup for measurement under atmospheric conditions. The key limiting factor in any interferometric dimensional measurement are fluctuations of the refractive index of air representing a dominating source of uncertainty when evaluated indirectly from the physical parameters of the atmosphere. Our proposal is based on ...
متن کاملMeasuring extremely complex pulses with time-bandwidth products exceeding 65,000 using multiple-delay crossed-beam spectral interferometry.
We measure the complete electric field of extremely complex ultrafast waveforms using the simple linear-optical, interferometric pulse-measurement technique, MUD TADPOLE. The waveforms were measured with ~40 fs temporal resolution over a temporal range of ~3.5 ns and had time-bandwidth products exceeding 65,000. The approach is general and could allow the measurement of arbitrary optical wavefo...
متن کاملA Review of the Three-dimensional Field Displacement Retrieval Methods Using Interferometric Synthetic Aperture Radar Observations (InSAR) With Emphasis on the Precision of Each of these Methods
Interferometric Synthetic Aperture Radar (InSAR) technology provides a useful tool for quantitatively measuring the deformation of the earth, influenced by natural factors (earthquake, subsidence, and landslide) and human factors (construction of structures, drilling, and the overexploitation of underground water aquifers). In this context, time-series analysis of radar images allows the monito...

River Ganga is one of the prime sacred National Rivers of India, closely associated with economic, social, and cultural heritage of Indian people. Recently, it has been subjected to immense degradation and pollution as a result of receiving huge amounts of domestic and industrial wastewater as well as religious ritual activities and surface runoff. The present study attempts to study spatial an...

After the successful European gravity mission GOCE (Gravity field and steady-state Ocean Circulation Explorer), which provided an unprecedented high resolution static global map of the Earth's gravity field, the European Space Agency has proposed several preparatory studies for a Next Generation Gravity Mission. The NGGM mission objective aims at measuring the temporal variations of the Earth g...
